Grades 3 - 5 Program Information 3rd Grade Ms. Kim Spaulding Degree: BS, MA, Concordia University, Seward, NE Ms. Spaulding is the most recent addition to our christian school family. Prior to accepting our call, she taught at Trinity Lutheran in Cape Girardeau, Missouri for six years. Kim is a native of Norfolk, NE. She was a student teacher for almost 3 months in Australia. We welcome Kim and wish her the best of success at PWCCS! Grade Focus: To increase the level of students' accountability and responsibility for their own learning. Mid-year, the transition between + and - grades changes to letter grades. 4th Grade Mrs. Karen Franzen Degree: BS, Concordia University, Seward, NE Mrs. Franzen has been with PWCCS since the school opened in 1994. Prior to that, she taught for the Aurora Public School system. Karen also taught at University Hills Lutheran School in Denver. She enjoys decorating, crafting, and traveling. Grade Focus: 4th Grade continues to increase student responsibility and is a transitional period from primary to intermediate grades. Colorado History is one of the main subjects introduced. 5th Grade Mr. Brad Buerck Degree: BS, Concordia University, Seward, NE Mr. Buerck joined the staff of PWCCS in 2003 after teaching three years at Grace Chapel Lutheran School in St. Louis, MO. He is entering his seventh year of teaching 5th grade Algebra. Mr. Buerck enjoys playing volleyball and coaches our girls' volleyball team. His love of travel was combined with his passion for teaching while he was a student teacher in Australia. Grade Focus: 5th Grade introduces regional and American History to students. |
